| Description: | It all started with Max Levin and Joseph Levine. Two Brothers decided to open a fine gifts store in 1928. When both men passed, Max's son, then just 17, took over the family business. Buzzy Levin ran Malloves Jewelers for years and saw it through times of great success as well as great struggle, including a fire in 1972 which completely destroyed the store. After the disaster, Malloves moved to a temporary location for two years before permanently relocating to it's current location at 404 Main Street in Middletown. Buzzy is now retired and lives in Florida but is a constant fixture at Malloves, returning to Connecticut regularly to help out during the summer and holiday seasons. In 1992 Buzzy carried on the family tradition and turned Malloves over to his son, Marc Levin. |
